One of Ed Sheeran s Splash Planet painting was sold at auction, raising more than $70,000 for a cancer charity. The abstract painting that resembles one of abstract expressionist artist Jackson Pollock s drip paintings was won by a bidder on the East Coast of the U.S. who paid $27 for a raffle ticket to the event.
The sale raised $70,689 for the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk, with the organization s chief executive, Karen Hare, telling BBC News that, We have been overwhelmed and delighted by the support we have been given, both here and abroad, and it s been absolutely fantastic to know that we have raised over £51,000 through ticket sales and donations.
