New Zealanders all over the country will be colouring
their world and brightening thousands of lives again this
February.
For the sixth year running the Resene Hunger
for Colour fundraiser will be offering crafty Kiwis a chance
to get their colour fix and help struggling families in
their community, by swapping a can of food for a 60-80ml
test pot of Resene paint. Throughout the month, the public
can swap up to seven cans for seven Resene testpots with all
cans then donated to their local Salvation Army
foodbank.

Even in situations where curtains aren’t needed for privacy or thermal properties, homeowners are seeking out tactile fabrics, says interior designer Anna Cuthbert. “Homeowners are looking for something soft to give a feeling of warmth – people want something to touch and feel. Big drops of sheer curtains that have interest, like embroidery for example, are popular rather than heavy drapery. And there is certainly more use being made of patterns, for example florals and mid-century style large geometrics,” says Anna.

The Folkestone Penguin is a social media sensation you may not have been expecting in 2021.
But while temperatures have dived in recent days the black and white bird snapped perched on pebbles on the Kent coast was not what it appeared to be.

It was photographed on Folkestone Beach on Wednesday and appeared on the Facebook page of pets specialist Donna Nettleship.
She told KentOnline the seabird was in fact a guillemot and had been taken to be checked by a veterinary surgery in Lympne.
