As a heavy snowfall and high winds blew across the city Tuesday, members of Cornwall’s Ontario Court of Justice settled into court pews behind plastic windows and microphone amplifiers to hear evidence in a break-and-enter and assault case.
Christopher Smith was arrested shortly after an incident on May 25, 2020, when police were called in the early hours of the morning by neighbors who saw a man kick down someone’s front door on Lemay Street. Const. Matthew brush recalled attending the scene, where he met the neighbours briefly before approaching the door with his colleague Const. Richard Houde.
