In the wake of increasing incidents of man-animal conflict, Khandre Thursday held a meeting with senior officials of the forest department and directed them to take preventive measures.
The minister held a meeting with senior officials of the Forest Department in his office at Vikasa Soudha and directed them to rope in experts to prepare a comprehensive plan to prevent wildlife straying into residential areas located close to forests.
Khandre added that sustainable development requires a long-term perspective, and hence, the government must be willing to invest in projects and policies that may not yield immediate returns but will create a better future for generations to come.
