Karonga district hospital has registered one new covid-19 case after three weeks of break. Disease and Surveillance Focal Person at the hospital Ellias Phiri said the person comes from Lupembe in the district and has since been admitted in the issolation center at the hospital. Chilima inspects collapsed Kyungu Bridge in Karonga

The bridge collapsed last night due to flooding of the river, following heavy rains. According to reports,three people believed to be officials from the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) and Immigration department are reported dead. Chilima was welcomed at the place by Paramount Chief Kyungu and officials from MRA and Immigration. Deputy minister of Transport and Public Works Nancy Mdooka was also present at the scene.
