Well, it's been a while since my last post-gig report following the first Pleasant Uprising last year, and it ain't because we've been gigless. Our early successes as a band have started to open doors for us on the scene, one of which led to our Day One debut in 2024!
When The Pleasant Uprising was fomented a couple of months ago, I had an idea of the amount of work a band would be - after all, I am something of a theater kid, public facing performances are a JOB - but I'm happy to report that I might have underestimated just how much fun I would have doing it.
With 3 show dates for The Pleasant Uprising during this writing period, it's been a whirlwind week for me here in this sunny city by the sea. Next week's schedule seems a little less hectic, but I've been fooled on that before so I'm just gonna saddle up for another week of this wild ride. if you stay ready, you don't have to get ready.
In this week's edition of 'Vibrant Vices', AJ Freeman hosting the 322 Trivia Academy at El Jardin de la Versalles, an impromptu party outside of Versalles' Cafe Roma, the weekly jam session at Colectivo Hueco and another musical night out on the town, listening to the Texas Embassy Blues Band at Nacho Daddy.
In this edition of 'Vibrant Vices', AJ Freeman talks about how he celebrated Halloween and the Day of the Dead in Puerto Vallarta. From helping the kids at Vallarta Abuelos with trick-or-treating to The Pleasant Uprising's first big gig at the Isla de los Muertos festival, AJ had a 'spook-tacular' week!
