Mount Maunganui based e-commerce clothing store Mount Longboards is one of five businesses that won a $10,000 cash prize for supporting Small Business Day. Over 32,000 Kiwis took part in the online promotion on April 9, more than 6,600 small businesses signed up to the initiative, and thousands more shoppers made purchases in their communities and captured the moment on social media. $200,000 in prizes was given out, including $10,000 in cash injections for each of five small businesses. Mount Longboards owner Kate Evaroa says the prize will help her business continue to outsource locally.
