Ojai Valley s Sarzotti COVID-19 testing site was overwhelmed July 14 with people seeking COVID-19 tests. Ojai has seen a 1.95% increase in 14-day case numbers, with eight new reported cases. This brings Ojai s
total COVID case count to 1,013.
The numbers result from two separate outbreaks.
Six reported cases came from students at the Monica Ros School.
Public Health Information Officer Ashley Bautista also confirmed four reported cases from the Ojai Valley Inn over the past two weeks.

In the letter, the teachers union President Angie Genasci wrote, in part: The membership feels that the current plan of (1) bringing elementary students back to campus for two days in this and next week and beginning a full hybrid schedule the following week and (2) bringing the middle and high school students back to campus at the end of January before we know if the case rates have lowered to the guidelines set forth by our Governor, is not one that is taking into consideration the physical safety of our students or staff.
