Mother-daughter duo Kathy Michaelson and Mary Rotter are involved in a wide variety of Detroit Lakes community projects – and they always seem to have fun along the way.
The Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary Club will be hosting their 23rd annual Peach Sale this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19-20 at Nereson's Automotive Sales. There will be just one location for the sale this year, with fresh, ripe peaches from Washington state available for purchase until supplies run out.
Every year since 1993, the Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary Club has held a rose sale to help raise funds for local health, wellness and literacy projects. The 29th annual Roses from Rotary event is set for Thursday, Nov. 4 through Saturday, Nov. 6, at three different locations: DL Floral (inside the Washington Square Mall), the lobby of the Detroit Lakes Holiday Inn, and the North Shore Travel Plaza.
The awards honor and celebrate seven people, businesses, organizations or groups that made a big impact in the community in 2020. Recipients this year include: Terry Kalil, Greta Guck and the entire Detroit Lakes Public Library team, SJE, La Barista, Kristin Bausman, Amy Erickson and Bruce Imholte.
