There is palpable tension as hundreds of youths and other residents of Kano State stormed the streets of Kurna quarters along Katsina Road to protest the killing of a teenager by a trigger-happy police inspector. SaharaReporters gathered that trouble started in the early hours of Tuesday when some gangs of political thugs clashed, disrupting the peaceful atmosphere in the area. However, one of the policemen deployed to the scene of the incident to keep the crisis from escalating, embarked on sporadic shooting at the crowd to disperse the thugs.
