Crash with injuries Sunday on West Shore prompts FDNY response

The incident was reported at about 6:50 a.m. near the intersection of Travis and South Avenues.
Two patients were treated at the scene, then one of them was transported by ambulance to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, the spokesman said.
The severity of their injuries wasn’t immediately known.
According to NYPD data, there have been at least 196 injuries related to traffic collisions on Staten Island so far in 2021.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Residents gathered together Saturday night at the “Light Up Staten Island” event in Midland Beach to honor loved ones lost during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The second annual event, which kicked off at 6:30 p.m., honored those who lost their lives to the coronavirus, as well as those who have been working on the frontlines.
