At the invitational this weekend, the Bears competed at the University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course. Cal showed a lot of promise but eventually finished eighth out of 16 teams that competed.
After a steady start to the spring season, it looked like Cal would clinch yet another top-five finish at the Ping/ASU Invitational. Despite a strong first round, the Bears struggled to maintain their momentum and finished in 11th place.
After a two week break from a tightly packed schedule, the Bears aim to take on yet another tournament. In this upcoming weekend, Cal is set to play in the Arizona sun against the nation’s top teams at the Ping/ASU Invitational.
Currently at its highest ranking of the season (No. 40), Cal women’s golf strives to keep the momentum going. Having played at the Causeway Invitational last week amid the storm, more rain awaits the Bears this week on their journey up the table.
While bringing along their entire roster to Sacramento, the Cal women’s golf team was able to gain valuable tournament experience in less than favorable conditions.
