Chicopee waives late fees for dog licenses after seeing dramatic decline in renewals during COVID pandemic

Chicopee waives late fees for dog licenses after seeing dramatic decline in renewals during COVID pandemic Posted May 04, 2021 CHICOPEE – The city will waive late fees for dog licenses due to concerns that annual renewals have dropped by half even though pet ownership across the country has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. Licenses must be renewed by April 30 every year and the city sends annual notices to remind people. The license costs $5 per dog - or $25 for an animal that is not spayed or neutered - but residents are charged an additional $5 for every month they are late up to $50, City Clerk Keith W. Rattell said.
