A day after a Delhi court directed AIIMS to constitute a medical board to examine Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Tihar Jail, the prison officials on Monday said that Kejriwal was administered insulin on the advice of AIIMS doctors.
A Delhi court had on Monday turned down Arvind Kejriwal’s plea to consult a doctor daily via video conferencing to monitor his health and diabetes treatment, and ordered that a panel from AIIMS would look into it.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, has accused the government of a conspiracy to kill her husband, claiming that his meals are monitored and insulin is being denied to him in Tihar jail. She labeled the regime a dictatorship for imprisoning Kejriwal and his Jharkhand counterpart, Hemant Soren, without proof of guilt.
The ED had on Thursday claimed before the court that Kejriwal was eating food high in sugar like mangoes and sweets every day, despite having Type-2 diabetes, to create grounds for medical bail.
