Virginia Beach police said a student was seen with a handgun getting off a Kellam High school bus on Tuesday.

Sisters Samantha and Kara Lee, who led the Dolphins to second place in the Class 6 state gymnastics team championships Saturday, posted two of the highest event scores for local performers in Sunday’s individual competition at Kellam High in Virginia Beach.

The Dolphins’ Kara Lee, who was the Class 6 Region A all-around runner-up, earned the day’s highest score on the floor exercise with a 9.483 as she helped lead her team to a second-place finish.

After being hindered by winter storms, the Virginia High School League state team and individual championships begin Saturday at Kellam High School in Virginia Beach.
