The Eveleth Community Foundation (ECF) Fund has granted nearly $12,000 to nonprofit organizations serving the Eveleth community during its recently completed 2021 grant round. A portion of that distribution went to Angel Fund, an all-volunteer nonprofit committed to providing financial assistance to Northeastern Minnesota residents facing cancer for expenses not covered by medical insurance. The $4,000 in grant funds will go directly to Eveleth residents battling cancer. Pictured here (from left) are ECF Advisory Board Chair Jon Hoel and Vice-Chair Alex Peritz granting a check to Angel Fund President Kelly Grinsteinner and Secretary Kari Kilen. Donors interested in learning more about the ECF and how it may assist them with their charitable interests should contact an ECF Advisory Board member or visit evelethcommunityfoundation.org.
HIBBING â The Hibbing Kiwanis Club recently donated $5,000 from its 63rd annual Pancake Feed profits to the Greenhaven PTO for the Inclusive Community Playground.
The donation is one of the largest to date for the Club, which also helped the Greenhaven PTO secure an Omni Spinner and additional private contributions for the project.
âWe are ecstatic about being able to help bring the Inclusive Community Playground to fruition,â said Kiwanis Member Kelly Grinsteinner. âAlthough itâs a small gift toward the project, it is the largest the club has made in recent years. Weâre all about supporting local youth, and this project is a perfect example of doing such.â
And so is he.
âActually, Iâm somewhat surprised Iâm still here,â said Holgate Monday while on the road to Duluth for a brain MRI. âIâve been told a couple of times to get my stuff in order.â
The Hibbing resident is best known as host of The Early Morning Show on WTBX. Heâs been open about his cancer battle â one heâs waged for about six years now â on the air.
âI donât know what the plan is,â he continued. âI definitely credit my family and friends for their support, and my listeners for their continued support. I donât know if all that love and prayers are keeping me here or whatâs going on.â
HIBBING â LVC Companiesâ Hibbing office is honored to support the Angel Fundâs mission to provide financial assistance to Northeastern Minnesota residents battling cancer.
The life safety, security and communications provider recently donated $250 to the organizationâs Rock for an Angel campaign. Rock for an Angel was created to replace critical funding normally raised through an annual curling event that was cancelled due to COVID-19.
âWeâre ecstatic to welcome LVC Companies to our family of donors,â said Angel Fund President Kelly Grinsteinner. âWeâre very thankful for the donation, which will go directly to local cancer patients.â
Based in Hibbing and founded in 2011, the non-profit, all-volunteer charity has provided more than $500,000 to over 1,500 area residents.
