A $39.33 million 2024-25 city budget has been adopted by the Amsterdam Common Council, which maintains the flat tax rate and 2% increases to users fees originally proposed by Mayor Michael Cinquanti.
The resolution included on the special meeting agenda released on Friday would eliminate the city’s $66.60 per month per person contribution effective June 30. Future retirees would therefore be responsible for the full Medicare Part B premium, which is set at $174.70 this year.
Revenue and expense projections in Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti’s $38.26 million 2024-25 city budget proposal are “reasonable,” according to a report by the state Comptroller’s Office.
