Maksim Chamenskij, aged 33 and of Chester Road East in Shotton appeared at the court on Monday. He admitted that on April 18 at Mold Road in Connah s Quay he drove a Lexus 220 after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the limit. There were 93 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the limit being 35. He received a fine of £200 and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge, as well as £85 costs. The court also disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 23 months.
Sean Cooney, aged 30 and of Hawarden Road in Caergwrle, appeared at the court on Monday.
FIREFIGHTERS were at the scene of a fire at Connah s Quay power station in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, April 3). Two crews from Deeside and Flint were sent to Kelsterton Road at 4.47am and spent three around three hours tackling a blaze believed to have been caused by faulty machinery which had overheated. Nobody was believed to have been hurt during the incident. A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: We sent two crews to Kelsterton Road for 4.47am this morning and a stop was called at 7.45am. The fire is believed to have been started due to a fault which caused machinery to overheat. Damage done by the fire was confined to an outdoor area within the hydrogen compound - luckily no hydrogen cylinders were involved.
