The Kempner Water Supply Corp. announced to its members Friday that muddy water has made it difficult to produce water along its Stillhouse Hollow Lake plant.
Lampasas City Council directed city staff to negotiate the final terms of an emergency water agreement with Kempner Water Supply Corp. In a unanimous vote Monday, council members authorized staff to move forward with negotiations on a conditional contract for temporary emergency water provisions with KWSC and to bring the agreement back to the council for consideration upon a decision of terms.
Despite recent rainfall, area residents should not expect water restrictions to loosen anytime soon. Water levels in Stillhouse Hollow Lake, the main water source for Lampasas and Kempner customers, remains low.
