MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A northern Indiana police officer fatally shot a man Monday after he fired at officers investigating a disturbance at a mobile home park, police said.

An Indiana man was fatally shot by police after they were called to a scene where he was threatening residents with a gun. The man shot at police and officers fired back.

Mishawaka has OKd its part of an interlocal agreement to form a smaller special victims unit. Now it awaits the OK from South Bend and county.
