Gov. Glenn Youngkin has signed bills aimed at improving maternal health outcomes — among them were bills to require health insurance coverage for doula services.
Maternal health professionals joined lawmakers to note disparities in outcomes and to celebrate passage of a resolution to create a Black Maternal Health Week.
Among them are efforts to reestablish a maternal health task force, expand maternal mortality data collection, include doula services in health insurance coverage and require bias training in renewing nursing
