TransportatiFon agencies are planning improvements in the Duluth area, and community groups say their ideas don’t go far enough to reconnect communities long split by the freeway.
From the letter: "The greenway is a proposal to cover six more blocks of Interstate 35 through downtown Duluth with adequate soil and deciduous and evergreen trees. It would include walkways to connect downtown and Canal Park."
Regarding ozone, for example, the best tree to reduce it is the eastern white pine, of which 48,253 pounds were removed over a 40-year period in Duluth.
