The Kerala Advocate Clerks Association held a hunger strike yesterday on the day of Onam near the Kerala High Court to protest against the decision to implement mandatory e-filing in courts. Justice.
The KACA said that the rules notified by the Kerala High Court for implementation of the e-filing system ignores the role and livelihoods of over 10,000 advocate clerks in the state.
The plea clarifies that the petitioner and other clerks are not seeking to challenge the digitization of the filing process or seeking to limit the use of technology to improve the justice delivery system in the State.
On January 1, 2022, the Kerala High Court had issued a notification stating that filing of all cases at the High Court would be through e-filing and issued the SOP for e-filing at District Courts as well
