The Kerala High Court has ordered that medical interns, house surgeons and post-graduate medical students should also be provided protection under the provisions of the Kerala Healthcare Service.
The bench directed that CCTV visuals of the rooms/places where the incident took place be preserved, and asked Judicial First-Class Magistrate-I, Kottarakkara to visit the Taluk Hospital and conduct an inspection of the scene and report to the court by tomorrow.
Justice Bechu Kurian Joseph said that despite various legislations in Kerala and repeated orders from courts to treat attacks on healthcare personnel, they still face threats when a mishap occurs to a patient.
