A Lexington man was arrested following a pursuit on Wednesday in which police say he tried to run over construction workers.
The pursuit started in High Point when police observed Byron Scott Small, 37, in a stolen truck, said Capt. Brad Saintsing with the Thomasville police. High Point police attempted to approach Small, and he fled. Officers followed the vehicle into Thomasville, where the Thomasville police took over the pursuit.
Small drove through two work zones and is accused of intentionally trying to run over four different construction workers, according to arrest warrants. Saintsing said no one was hurt during the pursuit.

A Thomasville man was arrested earlier this week in connection to a December 2020 fire at the old Kern Street School in Thomasville.
Charles Malik Setzer-Hayes, 23, faces the arson charge of felony burning other buildings in relation to the Dec. 31 fire, according to an arrest warrant.
Setzer-Hayes was previously arrested in connection to a fire on Nov. 2, 2020, at the old Kern Street School. In that incident, he was also charged with felony burning other buildings.
For the most recent arrest, Setzer-Hayes was taken to the Davidson County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond. He s scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on May 26.
