Dimapur, June 5 (EMN): Reiterating its support to the demand of Nagaland In-service Doctors’ Association (NIDA), the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) has appealed to the state government to reconsider its decision of re-employment and put into effect without further delay. As the medical age superannuation was provisioned by the central government through Prime Minister’s announcement and subsequent amendment of Fundamental Rules 1922, Rule 56, clause ‘bb,’ ASU stated that almost all the state and union territories have extended the age services of medical doctors according to their needs. ASU president, Bisevi Nakhro, and the vice president, Kevilelhou Zumu, expressed concern over shortage of in-service medical doctors in the state whereby many Primary Health Centres (PHC), Community Health Centres (CHC), District Hospitals and Medical department wings continued to function with no requisite doctors. As there could be no substitute to shortage of medical doctors, ASU insisted th
