BMW says its new all-electric BMW iX will feature BMW Digital Key Plus, an updated version of Car Keys that uses UWB instead of NFC.

Apple announced their Apple Car Key feature last year, the first manufacturer that were working with was BMW and now they have announced Digital Key Plus.

BMW has announced an upgraded version of its mobile car key technology dubbed Digital Key Plus. It promises to allow iPhone owners to unlock select BMW cars without having to take their phones from their pockets.

BMWs Digital Key Plus gives owners access to their iX without having to pull their iPhone out.

The BMW Digital Key Plus with Ultra-Wideband feature will be first launched with the all-electric BMW iX for iPhone.
