Around 200 members of the Sikh community staged a demonstration in Kolkata to show support for an IPS officer who alleged that a West Bengal BJP leader called him a Khalistani . The BJP leaders denied the allegations, stating that no one had used that term. The IPS officer questioned the use of the term, stating that it was unfair to label someone a Khalistani based on their religious attire. The Sikh community demanded an apology from the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Kolkata, Feb 21 (PTI) Around 200 people belonging to the Sikh community staged a demonstration in front of the BJP office in the city on Wednesday, expressing solidarity with an IPS officer who had alleged that West Bengal party leader Suvendu Adhikari labeled him as a 'Khalistani’.
Khalistan row: Answering a question at the Rajya Sabha, S Jaishankar said that while one country provided inputs on its allegations, the other did not.
