Sandown High Street is closed and Hampshire Constabulary is urging people to stay away from the scene.
Scroll down for video. A number of fire engines are on the scene and flames can be seen coming from the hotel s windows and through the roof, in what appears to be a major blaze. Police said: We are currently assisting the fire service at a fire at a hotel in High Street, Sandown. A number of roads are closed near the hotel and we are asking some people to evacuate the area. Please, if you do not need to be in the area, stay away.
