Strong performances turned in at Star Trackers Meet - The Nassau Guardian

Strong performances turned in at Star Trackers Meet Wendell Miller and Tarajh Hudson. The CARIFTA Games have been canceled for a second consecutive year, but that did not stop athletes from coming out to perform at the 18th Star Performers Track Classic 2021 at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium this past Saturday. One of those athletes was Swift Athletics under-20 boys competitor Wendell Miller. He ran personal best times in the 200 and 400 meters (m) races. In the under-20 boys 400m, Miller ran his way to a time of 46.33 seconds to come away with the win. That time qualified him for the NACAC (North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association) Under 18 and Under 23 Championships, set for July 9-11 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The first and third-year pair both secured Most Distinguished Achiever (MDA) titles at the recent virtual MDA awards ceremony. Thompson and Forbes’ respective fourth and fifth place scholarship prizes were sponsored by CIBC FirstCaribbean.

Fox was born as Ulrich Alexander Fox to Dianne Gerace and Ulrich Fox in Toronto, Canada. His mother was an Olympic high jumper and pentathlete He’s of Bahamian, Canadian, Italian, and Scottish descent. He played high school basketball at Kingsway Academy in Nassau, Bahamas and at Warsaw Community High School in Warsaw, Indiana. As one of the top recruits in the country, Fox was ruled ineligible by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) prior to his senior season due to him already completing eight semesters between the Bahamas and Indiana. He was still selected to the Indiana All-Star team.
