(Airman 1st Class Ireland Summers/Air Force) New body armor specifically tailored for women is arriving at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico part of a larger effort within the Air Force to provide women better-fitting equipment. Female airmen with the 377th Security Forces started receiving the new body armor in January, the Air Force said in a news release Feb. 17. Unlike the armor designed for men, the new body armor features several key changes to better accommodate women.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. The Secretary of the Air Force has chosen Huntsville s Redstone Arsenal to be the preferred location for the U.S. Space Command Headquarters.
The U.S. Air Force made the announcement on Wednesday, January 13.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to learn that Alabama will be the new home to the United States Space Command!,” Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said in a statement. “Our state has long provided exceptional support for our military and their families as well as a rich and storied history when it comes to space exploration.”

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey tweeted that she spoke with Pentagon officials Tuesday to promote Alabama, and specifically Huntsville, as the home of the Space Command headquarters.
It was announced in November that Redstone Arsenal is one of six candidates for selection.
Redstone Arsenal said Space Command representatives already conducted an in-person site visit. This was the second visit from the Air Force. The first one being last summer when this process initially began.
