(CEO) program from Crestview, Lincolnview, and Van Wert toured various
downtown buildings on Tuesday with the Van Wert County Foundation to
learn more about the Van Wert Forward Project.

Director Kerry Koontz said the aim of the tour was to show the students
what downtown Van Wert could look like in the future.
Council continues discussion on fencing ordinance

VAN WERT – During Monday’s regular meeting, the Van Wert City Council
further discussed how to tighten up the city fencing ordinance.
Councilman
Bill Marshall, who heads up with the Health, Service, and Safety
committee, has been focusing on the portion of the fencing ordinance
that talks about what should happen to a fence should it need to be
replaced. Marshall said he has received input from the community.
Employees at Brewed Expressions donate time to help health department

VAN WERT – On Friday, employees from Brewed Expressions spent their day volunteering at the Van Wert General Health District, which has been inundated with work for the past year due to the coronavirus. The owners of Brewed shut down the cafe for the day and paid employees to help out at the health department as part of a program called “Brewed Cares.”
“We want to help; we care and want to give back,” said Brewed Expressions manager Laura Bowen, who noted that the idea of helping out at the health department came from a customer who stressed how busy the health department has been.
