MUMBAI: Almost seven years after the mutilated body of a 50-year-old labourer was found on the terrace of a Chembur building with his head and private parts chopped off, a sessions court on Thursday convicted and sentenced two women and a man to life imprisonment for the murder.
Among those sentenced are sisters-in-law Shankaribai Rathod and Shantabai Chavan. Both worked with the victim, Basu Rathod, and were romantically involved with him too. The third convicted, Shankar Rathod, is the women’s relative.
