A statement from Toyota Australia issued to CarAdvice said: “Due to an earthquake in Japan on February 13th there have been adjustments to production at a number of plants. We are currently determining any impact from this on the Australian market.” Automotive News said Toyota would not disclose which car parts were affected, although a spokesman told the paper the delayed components were not semiconductors, which are at the centre of a global shortage and delaying most major automotive brands.
