On Saturday, the Centre announced that around 10,000 private hospitals and 600 government hospitals were roped in under the State Government Health Insurance Schemes to participate as COVID-19 vaccination centres (CVCs).

It is the indigenous version of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. The first dose in West Bengal will be provided at the SSKM Hospital here on January 16, followed by the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute, according to sources of the Indian Express. The city airport authorities tweeted after the vaccine arrived at 2:30 pm in a special cargo flight of budget carrier SpiceJet, “May all be free from disease. One step closer!
