Strains of angelic Christmas music drifted across the patio and lawn of the Luyber home and into an open window as the sun set at dusk.
The familiar holiday melodies flowed from harp strings played by Moorestown public school music teacher Laura Dishong as she entertained teen Madison Luyber and her parents who were watching and listening from the window.
The harp music was the first in a series of 15-minute afternoon surprise performances at the teenager’s home, culminating with a drive-by parade Sunday before Madison returns to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for more extensive chemotherapy for brain and lung tumors.
