By Srishti Prabha | Special to the OBSERVER - Bella Vista High School in Sacramento investigated a racist homecoming float that featured a Black man behind bars and white cops, and is now taking steps to improve racial education and diversity in decision-making on campus.
Last month a float on the theme of ‘cops and robbers’ featured a young Black man behind bars. School officials say “appropriate actions are being taken” following an investigation, but the Black student union says more needs to be done.
