The kids of El Dorado-based non-profit prepared with a dress rehearsal Monday evening at the South Arkansas Arts Center for a Tuesday night performance of "The Nativity:A Lamb s Special Story." The free show featured the young performers taking on an adaptation of "The Crippled Lamb" by Max Lucado led by HOPE Landing president and CEO Kristi Lowery. 34 performers were involved in the production.
Local non-profit HOPE Landing is planning to mark the holiday season with a pair of upcoming events including Christmas on the Ranch and a special Christmas performance.
The Paint the Town Pink Color Run returned to downtown El Dorado on Saturday for its 11th annual iteration. With its runners and walkers splashed with pink (and other colors), the event was hard to miss.
Mourners packed the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium on Wednesday, when funeral services for Alexis Alexander were held. Foo Fighters hits played softly as attendees filtered inside the theater, until Alexander’s family entered and local singers Mason Halstead and Clayton Evers began the services with a song.
On Monday, Kerry Shelton, plant manager at the El Dorado Laminating Plant of Canfor Southern Pine surprised HOPE Landing with a generous donation. The donation was part of Canfor s "Good Things Come from Trees" donation program, which supports organizations in the community that align with the company s priorities.
