CANTON TimkenSteel has new top leadership.
The Canton-based company announced Friday that Michael S. Williams has been named president and chief executive officer, and is joining the board of directors effective Jan. 1.
Williams was most recently the chief executive officer of the LaPlace, Louisiana-based Bayou Steel Group. He replaces Terry Dunlap who has served as interim CEO and president since October 2019. Mike is the right person to lead TimkenSteel into the future, given his extensive industry experience and proven track record, Dunlap said in a prepared statement. The TimkenSteel team has worked diligently with me over the past 15 months to improve the financial results of the company, and I know Mike is prepared to build on that momentum.
