Odisha MLA gets bail Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to arrested Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi, who was suspended from the ruling BJD following his arrest by the State crime branch on December 3 last year. Once considered to be a trusted lieutenant of BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, the MLA was arrested for allegedly duping several job aspirants by collecting nearly ₹50 lakhs from them on the promise of giving jobs to them in the Tata Motors. More arrests Panigrahi reportedly hoodwinked the local unemployed youths in cahoots with Akash Pathak, son of an IFS officer who claimed to be working as an MD with the Tata company. Akash and his father Abhaya Pathak were also arrested in connection with the case.

Odisha identifies 160 sites for vaccinating 3.29 lakh healthcare workers against COVID-19 ANI | Updated: Jan 11, 2021 23:56 IST Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], January 11 (ANI): Odisha Government has identified 160 sites in the state to vaccinate 3.29 lakh healthcare workers against COVID-19 in the first phase, said a health department official on Monday. Bijaya Kumar Panigrahi, Director, Odisha Health and Welfare Department told ANI that for the first phase of the vaccination, 160 session sites have been established in the state. For each site, a five-member team have been formed. In the first phase, 3.29 lakh healthcare workers will be vaccinated. We have included all cleaners and ambulance staff as well in the healthcare category for vaccination, he said.
