The electronic voting machines (EVMs) for Ranchi parliamentary seats are stored in six strongrooms at Pandra Bazaar Samiti premises with a three-tier security arrangement. Border Security Force, state armed police, and district armed police guard the strongrooms. Continuous surveillance by CCTV cameras and patrolling outside the premises ensure security.

Criminal: Criminal held with 2 guns in city | Ranchi News

A criminal, identified as Ramzan Khan, was arrested from the New Market auto stand on Tuesday while he, along with his accomplices, was planning subversive activities under the Sukhdeonagar police station limits, Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha said. A country-made pistol, a revolver, and a cartridge have been seized from the accused. Police said acting on a tip-off, a team led by deputy superintendent of police Prakash Soy nabbed Khan while the rest managed to escape. Hunt is under way.
