A woman sub-inspector attached to Kuvempu Nagar police station in Mysuru was apprehended by Lokayukta sleuths for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. The officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a civil contractor to return impounded valuables in connection with a case. The Lokayukta SP set a trap and caught the officer red-handed after she received the bribe.
