A Kuwaiti media outlet has unveiled a virtual news presenter generated using artificial intelligence, with plans for it to read online bulletins.

"I am the first artificial intelligence in Kuwait," says the video. The video was posted on the Twitter account of Kuwait News. It is part of a project to test the use of artificial intelligence on television. The project is being led by Kuwait Times, the first English-language newspaper in the Gulf. It has more than 1.2 million followers on the social media site. The story will be published in full in the next issue of the Kuwaiti edition of the New York Review of Books.
