HELENA, Mont. – As chair of the Montana Land Board, Governor Greg Gianforte today welcomed the state’s purchase of nearly 5,700 acres in the Big Snowy Mountain range, providing Montanans access to over 100,000 total acres of state and federal lands.
Hunters supporting Virginia’s first-ever managed elk hunt scheduled to take place October 8-14, generated more than $606,000 to bolster wildlife and management projects within the state’s elk-management zone.
A conversation effort by landowners and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will preserve a section of northwest Colorado to remain an elk and mule deer migration corridor.
