INX International Ink has completed an investment in Debut, a vertically integrated synthetic biology company. Debut is developing innovative and complex active ingredients for natural colors among other materials.

Avery Dennison announced today that its metalized films with AD CleanFlake technology have been recognized by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) for HDPE and PET recycling. The company becomes the first to be recognized for offering a portfolio of metalized label solutions capable of working with recycling systems to enable rigid plastic recycling.

HP Indigo has developed a new digital press aimed at the flexible packaging, label and shrink sleeve markets. The 200K digital press provides increased efficiencies and productivity built on the success of its 25K digital press. HP launched the 200K digital press before a global audience at a VIP event at its headquarters in Israel in March. Siegwerk, a global provider of printing inks and coatings for packaging applications and labels, has confirmed the completion of modernization activities at its Annemasse site, the company’s second-largest Center of Excellence for packaging inks and coatings in Europe. Avery Dennison Corporation has chosen five startups for the second iteration of their Stretch Accelerator Program. The program, a crucial step in tackling challenges in the labels and packaging industry such as connected packaging, materials innovation and sustainability, is run with Highline Beta, an accelerator builder-operator. They received more than 300 applications from startups all over the world.

TLMI has recently launched Calvin Frost Sustainability Leadership Awards, The Frosties, and the newly revised TLMI Printing Excellence Awards. These award programs are open exclusively to TLMI members. The Calvin Frost Sustainability Awards and the TLMI Printing Excellence Awards are accepting submissions until August 2023. Winners will be announced at TLMI’s annual meeting in October in Colorado Springs and will receive recognition globally.
