Alongside 11 of the district’s best spellers, the eighth-grader navigated six rounds of words and nerves in front of a crowd of attendees congregated in Bemidji Middle School Tuesday night.
For its 37th year of running, Tverstol along with 12 other student spellers competed in a total of 13 rounds involving words like “evaded,” “embrace” and “excited.”
Making an in-person return after two years of virtual camps, the five-day affair gives students an opportunity to learn and improve upon their skills as well as collaborate with other drummers and clinicians.
