The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has ordered the immediate removal of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Okokomaiko for his lack of supervision of his men. The removal order came less than 24 hours after SaharaReporters reported that policemen attached to the division of the Lagos Command, forcefully extorted a mobile phone dealer at the Alaba International Market, the sum of N100,000 without committing any offence.

Some senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to look into the promotion exercise going on in the force. Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command have busted a kidnappers’ den in the Ikorodu area of the state. The policemen during the operation on Thursday night rescued two kidnapped victims. The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command has arrested Fredrick Nwajagu, the Eze Igbo of Ajao Estate in Lagos State, who vowed to invite members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to Lagos State in order to secure Igbo properties in the state. A source in the police who preferred anonymity confirmed that the Igbo leader was arrested on Saturday morning by a joint team of policemen and operatives of the Department of State Services.
