The Lagos State government has confirmed the eviction of squatters living under a bridge towards Dolphin Estate in the Ikoyi area of the state over illegal settlement and environmental violations. Kunle Rotimi-Akodu, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who made this known said that 23 persons were arrested. Rotimi-Akodu said that the eviction and the arrest were carried out on Tuesday by officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as KAI.
He clarified that all of the buildings under the Dolphin Estate bridge had been successfully removed by the enforcement team from the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, including a container that was being used for a variety of illegal activities were discovered under the Dolphin Estate bridge.
