The police in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria on Wednesday rescued a yet-to-identified day-old female baby left abandoned in a sewage tank. The command made this known in a Twitter post, stating that the baby was discovered by officers attached to Gowon Estate Division. The police added that the rescued baby had been attended to medically and was doing well. “A day-old female baby was found in a sewage tank at about 8:30 am today. Officers of Gowon Estate Division, upon being alerted, promptly arrived at the scene.
No fewer than five suspected cultists have been arrested during forceful initiation in a hotel in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State.
