The Oklahoma City Dodgers were the only affiliate who played on Monday, as they picked up the victory.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers picked up their fourth straight victory, their longest winning streak of the season. OKC picked up a run in the first inning, as Luke Raley and Rangel Ravelo each recorded hits. Steven Souza Jr. brought in the first run of the game with a flyout.
The game was knotted at one a piece until the eighth inning when OKC put up two runs. Sheldon Neuse doubled to lead off the inning and then later came in to score on a wild pitch. After a walk from Ravelo, a double from Souza Jr. brought in another run to put the Dodgers up two.
Player of the day
Triple-A Oklahoma City has a rotation mostly filled with veterans, especially with top prospect Josiah Gray currently sidelined with a right shoulder impingement. On Tuesday, it was right-hander
Aaron Wilkerson’s time to shine.
Wilkerson took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, and settled for 6⅔ scoreless frames with seven strikeouts. He scattered two walks and a hit by pitch through the first six innings, his shot at history broken up by left fielder Ryan Vilade singling to open the seventh.
The fourth time turned out to be the charm for Wilkerson, who pitched in parts of three seasons (2017-19) with the Brewers, and signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers on April 30. In his first three starts with OKC, Wilkerson allowed 12 runs on 16 hits, including four home runs, in 11⅓ innings, losing all three. But with Tuesday’s gem he lowered his seasonal ERA to 5.50 to go with 17 strikeouts and four walks.
